Cordova,
Alaska is ideally located for those who want to explore the inner
depth's of the true wilderness. There are a number of wilderness camps
in the region that offer one the chance to get away from it all...and
enjoy the pristine seclusion that only this region can offer.
Whether
you are into a remote fishing vacation, some backcountry hiking, or
the simple pleasure found in the mystery of the wilderness, you are
sure to enjoy any of the wilderness camps in the area. Below is just a
sample of the many different wilderness camps that you can fly to out
of Cordova:
Wilderness Camps |
 |
Tebay Lakes
In the heart of the Wrangle St. Elias Park is
our fly in mountain lake getaway. This camp is ideal for two-to-four
people. It's fully equipped with skiffs and canoes for exploration of
this three lake system.
Hidden Cove Canoe Adventure
This is a two-four day summer flyout trip. Stay in our comfortable wilderness cabins, explore an
abandoned town, walk surf swept beaches, and canoe the rivers and
sloughs.
Tsiu River
The Tsiu River is well known for its Silver
Salmon run. While it lacks the seclusion of our other camps (a
sizeable commercial fishing camp is also located on the river) it more
than makes up for this in fishing actions. The cabin sleeps four
adults comfortably. The river is approximately a half mile from the
cabin.
Katalla River Cabins
Located at the abandoned town site of Katalla, this camp is spiced with local history. The Katalla River
offers great Silver Salmon fishing that begins in mid-August. The
beaches around Katalla also offer a great opportunity for razor clam
digging as well as catching Dungeness crab. The three cabins are well
equipped with propane lights and utensils. A canoe and skiff are also
available for use.
Cape St. Elias Lighthouse
By special arrangement with CSELK
Association, this lighthouse is open to the public for the first time.
